Rob O'Hanlon
Climate Course Facilitator
Rob is a passionate part time geography teacher, educational coach and mentor, dedicated to helping others through education and environmental action. Rob has also been nominated for the 2025 Kent Teacher Awards.
Beyond the classroom, Rob runs a local school eco club, helping young people understand the importance of sustainability and take practical steps to protect the planet. He is also an environmental speaker and trainer, working with schools, businesses and community groups to talk about, learn and plan meaningful change.
As a volunteer for Rainham Eco Hub, Rob is involved in a range of initiatives, from local conservation efforts to promoting sustainable living. Recently, he built a walipini greenhouse in his garden using waste materials and recycled windows, extending
the growing season and reducing reliance on shop-bought produce. At home, he has embraced refill solutions, cut down on meat consumption and changed jobs to reduce his daily commute – all small but impactful steps towards a more sustainable lifestyle.
Rob understands that not everyone can make the same changes, which is why he is passionate about helping people and communities work out what they can do within their own circumstances. He believes that real change happens from the ground up and that feeling empowered to take even small steps can be the first move towards a larger environmental movement.
Above all, Rob loves helping people learn, grow and take control of the impact they want to have on the world.
